"Aberration test results

In the astrograph-quadruplet 1:5
edge of the field of view: 8' - a diffraction pattern colored by chromatic aberrations (astigmatism) and noticeably distorted by aberrations (astigmatism)
zone: 8' - diffraction pattern disturbed by spherical (?) aberration with a slight manifestation of chromatic aberration and coma
center: 8' - diffraction pattern disturbed by spherical (?) aberration and minor misalignment coma

In the astrograph-quadruplet 1:10
The image is smooth and of very high quality across the entire field of view - diffraction limited, only at the very edge is there a disturbance in the diffraction due to chromatic aberration of magnification
Distortion is strong and positive. I didn't notice any flare or light scattering. The eye relief is comfortable, perhaps too comfortable—you have to hold your eye away from the eyecup, so the lens "bleeds" from side light sources at the viewing location. With glasses, the entire field of view is also clearly visible, without vignetting or clipping. The aperture edge is sharp and free of coloration. Vignetting is virtually nonexistent.
Comparison

Compared to the 4mm Radian TV,
the Radian is noticeably heavier with comparable dimensions. In the center of the field of view, the Radian creates images that are cleaner from aberrations (there is no hint of misalignment or spherical aberration. In terms of field image quality, the ES52° definitely wins. The Radian has a slight curvature at the very edge of the field of view, while the ES52° does not. The Radian has a larger field of view. The ES52° is more comfortable to observe, while the Radian has an unpleasant tendency towards bean vignetting. Light protection (thanks to the adjustable eyecup height) is better for the Radian. The ES52° claims to be weather-sealed.

Compared to the 3.5 mm Nagler TV,
the dimensions and weight are approximately equal. In terms of field image quality, the Nagler definitely loses out due to quite noticeable astigmatism. In the center of the field of view, on the contrary, the Nagler seemed better to me. The field of view is definitely better for the Nagler! But the Nagler is not weather-sealed and has noticeable glare.
Possible marriage!

There are reports on Cloudinates and even in this thread below about the 3mm ES52 with a noticeable drop in image quality at the edges of the field of view due to the field curvature. It seems the build quality of these eyepieces is inconsistent! Assembly errors in the orientation of the pre-focal component and other lenses are possible. Buyer beware – when assembled correctly, image quality is very consistent across the entire field of view!"

Explore scientific 24mm 68° s druge strane, nemam zamjerke.

*jok*
